Dear Trinity Baptist Church Family, This humidity is tiring. Even with the escape provided by air conditioning, I find myself fighting. This morning we read Psalm 6, verses 2-3 read: “Have mercy on me, O Lord, for I am weak; O Lord, heal me, for my bones are troubled. 3 My soul also is greatly troubled; but You, O Lord—how long?” As we read I was impressed with how often David cries out to God about his enemies. He asks that they be eliminated. He asks for deliverance. David’s enemies came at him with weapons. Our enemies come at us as sickness, ungodly lies, weariness, doubt, slander, and more. We need to cry out to God, tell Him what is happening to us, and then be confident that He knows and is still Sovereign.
On Thursday, Kathy R texted me, “It’s benign!” This is wonderful news concerning the nodule they removed from her lung on Monday. Over the next couple of weeks, pray for her healing from this surgery. Pray also that she, Dave, and the doctors have great wisdom concerning what is next for Kathy. May God be the great healer in her body.
Please pray for Mollie H. She is still at St. Agnes fighting covid pneumonia. Also, Ron and Wenda L have covid pneumonia and are very sick. They are home. Pray for great strength and healing for them. Continue to also pray for the father of my children’s friend, Steve B. Doctors say his lungs will not recover from the effects of Covid.
Continue to pray for Karrie M. She is struggling with pain as she recovers from her knee replacement surgery. Also pray for their son, Caleb. He is deployed to Poland and is discouraged with his work and being separated from his family.
We rejoice with Sam and Lisa K on their new son! Kaleb became an official part of their family this week. Congratulations, Kaleb. And praise the Lord, Sam and Lisa.
Devin has asked for those planning to be in choir this fall to let him know. We will begin practicing on Sundays at 5:00 p.m. beginning on September 12th. Besides singing on occasional Sundays, a cantata is planned for Sunday morning, December 12th.
The Peace family left Des Moines to return to Brazil on Thursday. Pray for their safety as they finish their journey home in the Amazon. Pray also for renewed strength as they resume ministry. Pray for their protection from Covid and its accompanying issues.
Pray for Christians in Afghanistan. Pray for the gospel to be present. Pray for protection of the hundreds of thousands of innocent people who are being caught in the cross hairs of this conflict. Pray for Americans and those who need to leave to get out. Pray for Christians – like us – to minister to those who might be refugees in our area.
We praise the Lord for a good start to Trinity Baptist School. Pray for the effectiveness of our fall teaching ministries: school, Sunday School, and Awana. Pray for souls to be saved through these ministries.
