Report from Lloyd Peace on the Teen Retreat in Brazil

Thank you for praying for my time in Brazil.  God blessed in so many ways.  Just my coworkers knew I was coming, so my being there was a big surprise for the teens.  I am thankful for good conversations with a number of them about their spiritual lives.  I had the privilege of leading two teen guys to the Lord while I was there.  We know of one other salvation decision that was also made during the retreat.  Please pray for Dionardo, Athos, and Arnando and their spiritual growth.  While there was time for fun and games, our main emphasis was on spiritual growth.  An Olympic theme was used and the key verses were Hebrews 12:1-2, “Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.”  There were 18, 45 – 60 minute classes that covered topics such as how to choose a good church (for those heading off to college), how to deal with technology in a godly way, peacemaking principles, impediments to ‘winning the race’, and characteristics of a growing Christian just to name a few.  A number of teens made decisions to make positive changes in their lives and priorities.  Please pray for continued spiritual growth.  Check out our Facebook page for some photos from the retreat.

Athena is scheduled for another CT scan on February 26th to evaluate the nodule in her lung.  She will see the oncologist on February 28th for the results.  After that appointment, she can schedule a time with her surgeon to have her port removed.  We plan to purchase our return tickets to Brazil after meeting with the oncologist.  We are looking to fly out of Chicago on April 13th.  We are also excited to have a young lady traveling with us to help out with homeschooling while we get our house ready to move back into.  Please pray for Ashley as she will apply for her visa just as soon as we purchase our tickets.

I am thankful for the opportunity that God provided for me to test fly the type of airplane that  I am planning to purchase for ministry.  I was really impressed with its flight characteristics and ample cabin room.  I am planning to take a 4 day course on Rotax engine maintenance which is the type of engine that the majority of the smaller airplanes have.  While I am an experienced airplane mechanic, I haven’t worked on this type of engine before and it will be good to have a concentrated course specific to this engine.  The class is March 5 – 8 in Sebring, Florida.  If anyone would like to help cover the $1,000 cost of this class, donations can be sent to my ministry fund at ABWE (P.O. Box 8585, Harrisburg, PA  17105-8585)  with a note designating it for “maintenance course”.  My account number is 0131663-003.

Thank you for being a part of our ministry!
