Nicaragua Team Hits the Ground Running
We have arrived safely in Nicaragua and after a good night’s sleep, we got right to work. Saturday morning was spent preparing for ministry throughout the week. We learned a puppet show, some Spanish songs, and how to make balloon animals. Of course in the mean time, we also learned much about our hosts and Nicaragua through conversations with the Woughter’s and other missionaries here at the center. Saturday afternoon was spent in La Concha putting up plastic around people’s homes to keep out the rain and practicing some of our newly learned skills. Jeremy enjoyed every opportunity to practice his Spanish especially with the gracious Pastor Luis, while Pastor Rory and Ted enjoyed picking fresh avocados. Sunday will bring church in La Conchs, with ministry opportunities to kids in particular, then lunch at the mall where we will have to order without help of a translator. Thank you for your prayers. We will give another update on Wednesday evening.
