Dear Trinity Baptist Church Family, If asked, what would you say is the most important thing you can do to please God? I sometimes ask people this, “If your child or grandchild asked you how to have a relationship with God, what would you tell them?” Jesus was asked this question. Jesus answered, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.” Do you and I love God? How is it evidenced in our lives? We will be in this text in Mark 12 this coming Lord’s Day.
Tomorrow, Tuesday, October 17th, is our monthly Senior Lunch Day. We meet at Rolling Meadows Restaurant and order off the menu at noon. Then after fellowship and lunch we will begin a walk through of 1 Thessalonians. If you are 55 or more and able, please join us! We are done by about 1:30 p.m.
Friday, October 20th is Grandparents’ Day at Trinity Baptist School. You are all invited! We will designate you as honorary grandparents for the day. It’s an open house, an opportunity for you to see our school. We will eat lunch in the basement at 11:45 a.m. and then have a short program in the auditorium. Please RSVP as soon as possible so that we can set a place for you. Contact Pastor Shaeffer, myself, or Beth. You can email Beth at bbraker@trinityfdl.net.
This Wednesday, October 18th, is Awana Pie Auction. Bring a pie, bring a friend, and buy a pie! We have raised about $2,000 per year in recently years at this auction. Half of the money goes to support our Awana Clubs and the other half goes to mission works around the world. This year’s mission project is the printing of materials for the church in Mongolia. The auction begins in the auditorium at 7:00 p.m.
Carolyn O should learn this week when her next surgery will be. Pray for her continued strengthening. It was good to see Kathy R back in church! Pray for her continued healing from surgery and for wisdom as to what the next treatment should be.
In all the busyness, pray for the effectiveness of the ministries of Trinity Baptist Church. Pray that God’s Word is priority. Pray that God’s Word is obeyed. Pray that we might have a spirit and will to repent.
Embracing Truth. Equipping Saints.
