Dear Trinity Baptist Church Family: Yesterday morning we talked about “the witnesses” to Jesus that Christians and Churches ought to be. In the text the disciples asked Jesus if He was going to establish the promised Israeli kingdom at that time. Acts 1:6. He answered, “It is not for you to know the times or seasons which the Father has put in His own authority.” Acts 1:7 I realize Jesus’ answer to His disciples was specific to their particular question, but there is truth here we ought to apply today. Only God knows the future, it is not ours to know. In facts, the future is none of our business! I can only work for the glory of God today. Worry about yesterday or tomorrow is wasteful and sinful. Today is the time I have been given.
Remember those who are grieving. Pray for marriages and families in our church. For some, “Safer at Home” has been very hard.
If you are able, please join the church family tomorrow (Tuesday) at 1:45 p.m. in the north lot of the City/County building to celebrate the Shaeffer’s adoption of Taven, Sophie, and Kinley. We should keep our physical distance while showing them our love. Cards or gifts are appropriate.
Attached is “Here a Little” for your devotional thoughts and to prepare you for this coming Sunday’s sermon. I have also attached an article that I will have Beth copy for a future bulletin. Scott Carson’s essay on a Christian response to “Safer at Home” is worthy of your time.
