Dear Trinity Baptist Church Family, On Sunday evening, Pastor Charlie preached from Psalm 92. I was especially encouraged by the last few verses: Psalm 92:12-15 “The righteous shall flourish like a palm tree, He shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon. 13 Those who are planted in the house of the Lord shall flourish in the courts of our God. 14 They shall still bear fruit in old age; They shall be fresh and flourishing, 15 To declare that the Lord is upright; He is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in Him.” Charlie pointed out the contrast between the grass that pictures the wicked earlier in the psalm and the palm and cedar trees which picture the righteous. There is quite a contrast is value and permanence. Note that the righteous are planted in the house of the Lord. What a wonderful place to be planted! Best of all is the description of their end: they shall still bear fruit in old age, they shall be fresh and flourishing. I don’t know about you, but I want this to describe my life.

I shared in a letter last week and again with the Men’s Meeting last night that as of this week, our mortgage is paid off. Trinity Baptist has no long-term debt! So the Parking Lot & Roof fund no longer exists. At the Men’s Meeting it was decided to establish a Capital Improvement fund. The immediate goal of this fund would be to raise $40,000 in anticipation of replacing our current furnaces when they wear out in the future. We also changed the name of the New Projector fund to the Technology Advancement fund. The purpose of that change is to reflect the broad range of things we need to keep updating, especially in our sound booth. At this time, improving sound for our live stream is a goal of this fund. We will update again on these issues at our Quarterly Congregational meeting on April 14th at 6:30 p.m.

The Men’s Meeting also prioritized some projects that will be completed with our budget in the coming months. First on the list is the main bathroom at the parsonage.

Continue to pray for Carolyn O’s strengthening. Van asked us to pray for his brother-in-law, Alan, who will be having a bone marrow transplant.. Emma S will have surgery on her eyelid on Wednesday. Tim S has a niece who has spina bifida. She is a new born and they will be waiting a few months before she has surgery. Pray for Kathy T’s back to heal.

Pray for families and marriages in our church. Pray for our visitors to return and for God to draw them to Himself. Pray for our many young adults. Several are making big decisions about what to do in their future. Alex W asked our Men’s Meeting to pray for a change he is making in his employment.

Pray for our school auction and pray for enrollment for next year. Pray for those who grieve.
