Dear Trinity Baptist Church Family,
Psalm 90:12 “So teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.” Pastor Charlie preached from Psalm 90 last evening. I was reminded that life is short and the judgment of God is sure. Therefore, we should use our time wisely. Am I glorifying God in what I choose to do today? Is my heart glad with the opportunities of this day in spite of the expected hardships?
I failed to emphasize yesterday that we have a special speaker this coming Sunday morning. Dr. Bryan Brock will be teaching our adult Sunday School classes and preaching in the morning service this coming Lord’s Day. I have enjoyed and been challenged by his preaching the couple of times I have been able to hear him preach. I am looking forward to Sunday!
Tomorrow, Tuesday, January 17th, is Senior Lunch and Bible Study. We will return to the book of 1 Thessalonians. We meet at Rolling Meadows at noon and order lunch. Then after we eat we have a short Bible study. All seasoned adults are welcome to join us for this time of fellowship and edification.
It’s First Responder Night in Awana Clubs this Wednesday. Clubbers are encouraged to dress up as fire or EMT rescuers or police officers.
Two weeks from Thursday is Souped Up! Fill out an order form and get it in to Beth by January 29th. You may stop by anytime from 11:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. to purchase any soup we have available. By placing an order ahead of time, you guarantee we will have the variety you want. Quarts this year will be sold for $12.
Pray for strength and healing for Carolyn O. Pray that Kathy R’s chemo is effective in killing her cancer. Cecil H has surgery on Thursday. Pray also for his wife Pat for some heart issues. Van’s Dad is having heart surgery and his brother-in-law is fighting another round of cancer.
Today is Day 95 for the 186 Hamas Hostages. It would seem that many would like to forget these victims of terrorism. Pray for their safety and release. Pray for peace.
Today begins our nation’s primary election season. Pray for our country.
A girl named Virginia was saved last week in Awana. Pray for our ministry as we come in contact with those who are hurting and in need of Jesus.
Stay warm. I note that the afternoon sunshine is remaining a little longer!
Embracing Truth. Equipping Saints.
