Dear Trinity Baptist Church Family, Last evening Pastor Charlie preached from Genesis 38 – one of the grosser chapters in the Bible. We were reminded that God’s judges the wicked. We saw many consequences of Judah’s poor choices. We also learned that God works His plans in spite of man’s sinful choices.
I rejoice in the good day with God’s people. My family remarked that yesterday was in some ways the end of summer break. Beginning next Sunday we have either choir or a meeting or both every Sunday afternoon until the end of December. Ready or not, here it comes!
Tomorrow is Senior’s Bible Study. We meet at noon to order off the menu at Rolling Meadows Restaurant. Then we will consider what the Bible says about War and National Defense. We will be done about 1:30 p.m. This is a fun time of fellowship and learning.
On Wednesday, Darryl is going to lead our adult Bible study. He will be going through 2 Samuel 22 – a psalm of David. I have enjoyed our walk through 1 & 2 Samuel this summer.
Our Awana year begins on September 1st. We have an Awana director’s meeting on Wednesday, August 18th and an Awana leader’s meeting on Wednesday, August 25th.
There are sign up sheets at the Ministry Opportunity Tables for tournaments to be held during the church picnic on Sunday, August 29th. Put together your 3 on 3 basketball or doubles corn hole team.
My you find it easy to love God today. And may your love for Him be reflected in your love for others.
Embracing Truth, Pastor
