Dear Trinity Baptist Church Family, I was blessed and encouraged by the spirit of the Church and God’s Spirit evidenced in yesterday’s worship. Praise God for opportunity to be part of the family of God.
Pray for Jean this morning as she is in surgery.
I’ve attached a “Here a Little” for this week to this email. Some have used this tool found in our bulletin as part of their daily walk with God. Perhaps some have used it to get ahead of Sunday’s sermon. I have a new and larger goal for this tool. I would challenge our Church to use this as a discipleship tool not only for your personal walk with God, but perhaps also for use with your family or with small groups within the church. It is my agenda to prod us further toward Christlikeness.
One place I hope to use this tool is at a newly begun men’s Bible study. For those who might be interested, I’d like to propose 6:00 a.m., Tuesdays beginning August 18th. I realize this will not be a workable time for everyone or for every week. I’d like to lead this study for those who would be interested in joining it. Although we will pray and we will have opportunity for accountability, the primary agenda will be topical Bible study. Until a better title is found, I’ve put this on our church calendar as Men for Christ Bible Study. We will circle up some chairs in the auditorium.
Another place where I’d like to use Here a Little is at a monthly senior’s lunch. And by seniors I mean those who have been seasoned by life, not those graduating from high school. I have put Senior’s Lunch Bible Fellowship on the church calendar for the 3rd Tuesday of every month at 12 noon also beginning on August 18th. There is an area at the back of Rolling Meadows where we will be able to meet. We will order off the menu and enjoy a time of fellowship and Bible study.
A lot of things are uncertain in our lives. God’s Word and His agenda for us are not uncertain. It is my prayer that many will be encouraged to be more like Jesus because of these opportunities.
Embracing Truth, Pastor
