Dear Trinity Baptist Church Family, Last evening, Pastor Charlie pointed out that the first chapters of James describe Christian maturity to us. The mature show no favoritism, they obey what they know of God’s Word, and they keep their tongue under control. As he concluded chapter 3 he said “True love for believers relies on wisdom from God.” May we do the hard work of seeking God for maturity in our Christian walk.
We’ve good news from the Ben H family. George’s surgery went well and he is recovering quickly. His throat is sore from instruments used, but he and his parents are thankful for God’s protection. And they are thankful for our prayers.
Tomorrow, Tuesday, August 16th, is Senior Lunch and Bible Study. We begin by ordering off the menu at noon at Rolling Meadows Restaurant and then will be looking at the middle of Colossians 1. Lin gets to come with me yet this month!
Pray for upcoming children’s ministries at Trinity Baptist. Trinity Baptist School begins a new year on Monday, August 22nd. Sunday School will promote half of our young people to new classes on Sunday, September 4th. Awana begins a new year on Wednesday, September 7th. These ministries are some of the most important things we do as a church. Most believer adults who grew up in church accepted Christ during our formative primary years. Then we matured in our choices during our junior and teens years. Pray for the effective work of the Holy Spirit and the exaltation of Jesus and God’s Word in these ministries that the church – the great cause of Jesus Christ – might go forward to the glory of God.
