Dear Trinity Baptist Church Family, Psalm 3:1-6 “Lord, how they have increased who trouble me! Many are they who rise up against me. 2 Many are they who say of me, “There is no help for him in God.” Selah 3 But You, O Lord, are a shield for me, my glory and the One who lifts up my head. 4 I cried to the Lord with my voice, and He heard me from His holy hill. Selah 5 I lay down and slept; I awoke, for the Lord sustained me. 6 I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people who have set themselves against me all around.”
Are you surrounded by enemies who say you have no chance of making it? David felt that way. But note the things he said of God: “You are a shield for me, You lift up my head, He heard me, the Lord sustained me.” In our overwhelming circumstances we must fix our attention on our Eternal God. He is our only hope.
Tonight, Friday, January 5th at 7:00 p.m. is Acts 29. All young adults are invited to the Braker home for a Bible study and time of fellowship.
Tomorrow morning, Saturday, January 6th at 8:00 a.m. is Men’s Prayer Breakfast. I have 13 signed up to come. If you are planning on coming and are not sure if you are signed up, contact me. We are having bacon, sausage, egg-in-the-hole, fruit, juice, and coffee. We eat at 8:00 a.m. and then pray and be on our way before 9:30 a.m.
We begin two new Sunday School classes on Sunday. Pastor Shaeffer is leading a class called “Foundations for Christian Living.” It will be a practical class on how to live a Christian life. Pastor will be starting a walk through “The Acts of the Apostles.” This would be a great time to begin attending our Sunday School Bible studies if this is not already your habit.
Sunday morning is Lord’s Table. My sermon will be on the Resurrection of Jesus from Mark 16. After Lord’s Table we normally take a benevolent offering. In January of most years, our benevolent offering goes to crises pregnancy centers. Once again we will divide what comes in this offering or monies designated to this in our giving between Charis Pregnancy Help Center here in Fond du Lac and Seed of Hope Center in West Bend.
Sunday evening at 5:00 p.m. we will resume both choir practices – adult and children. I am hoping for a good children’s choir practice because I’d like them to sing on Sunday morning, January 14th.
Sunday evening at 6:30 p.m. is our Congregation’s Quarterly Business Mtg. Agendas with reports have been printed and are available to pick up on the MOT. It is important that the membership of Trinity Baptist be informed both theologically and organizationally. I encourage all members to be part of this meeting.
We have several new people attending our church. Welcome them and pray for them as they seek where God would have them be a part of the body of Christ.
I believe Kathy R is home and healing. Pray that her pain be gone and that she heals quickly. The goal is to begin chemo to fight the cancer causing the nodes in her lungs.
Pray for the glory of God to fill our hearts and minds. May we be in awe of Who God is. May we fear putting ourself on the throne of our heart. May Jesus be big in my life.
