Dear Trinity Baptist Church Family, Psalm 138 begins with high praise of God exalting His truth, His Name, and His Word. Then in Psalm 138:6-8 David writes; “Though the Lord is on high, yet He regards the lowly; but the proud He knows from afar. 7 Though I walk in the midst of trouble, You will revive me; You will stretch out Your hand against the wrath of my enemies, and Your right hand will save me. 8 The Lord will perfect that which concerns me; Your mercy, O Lord, endures forever; do not forsake the works of Your hands.” Note how God reaches down from all He is to address our needs. And He “will perfect that which concerns me.” God is busy working on me!
Pray for the Tony McCrary family. A visitation for Tony will be held at Zacherl Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. this evening and again tomorrow from noon until 1:00 p.m. At 1:00 p.m. we will participate in a funeral service for Tony at Zacherl which will be followed by burial with military honors at Rienzi Cemetery. Also continue to pray for Anne G in the home going of her mom.
This coming Lord’s Day is about as “normal” of a Sunday as we have had for a while. Adult and Teen Sunday School will be in their regular classes. I will return to my 2 Peter series in the morning service. We have a Men’s Meeting at 5:00 p.m. Pastor Shaeffer will be preaching from Luke at the 6:30 p.m. service. Sundays have either been very cold or snowy for several weeks and it looks like this week will be no different with snow predicted. In spite of the many hindrances, God has shown Himself faithful and good.
We have a Men’s Bible study on Tuesday mornings at 6:00 a.m. We are walking through the book of John and would welcome more to join us. This Tuesday, February 23rd, will be our monthly senior lunch at Rolling Meadows. We will eat at noon and begin our Bible study after we eat rather than try to do it all at once. I am going to try to space out our seating a little more too. Our topic will be “What does the Bible say about taxes?” You may be surprised!
Serve the Lord. Pray for one another. Pray for our government and its leaders. Pray for the Word of God to be supreme at Trinity Baptist Church.
Embracing Truth, Pastor
