Dear Trinity Baptist Church Family, Psalm 80:3 “Restore us, O God; Cause Your face to shine, and we shall be saved!” These same words are repeated in verses 7 & 19. Three times Asaph asks to be restored and that God would cause His face to shine. I love the picture. We delight to see the glow of the face of someone who is pleased with us or pleasantly disposed towards us. How fun it is to think of God’s face glowing as He considers me! Oh, may this be my desire this day, to have the Creator’s face turned towards me with pleasure. This is only by His good grace.
If you are looking for something different for dinner tonight, pick something up at Panera Bread. Between the hours of 4:00 p.m. & 8:00 p.m. if you show them the app found on our school’s facebook page or the insert from Sunday’s bulletin, our school will receive 20% of your ticket. This is an easy way to give something to our school and enjoy a night of not cooking.
Sunday’s schedule is pretty normal considering it is the week before Christmas. I am in between my 1st and 2nd Peter’s series and will be walking through the Bible examining the dwelling glory (Shekinah) of God. I think this is a fun study and it is applicable to Christmas and our walk today. Sunday evening Jeremy will continue his series in Luke.
We have no Awana or Bible study the next two Wednesday evenings – December 23rd and December 30th. Instead we have our traditional Christmas Eve Candlelight Service on Thursday at 6:00 p.m. Then on the 31st we will have a family friendly evening of food and games beginning at 6:00 p.m. We will have a potluck dinner. Bring your favorite table games and plan on a fun evening. We will have our normal last Sunday of the month lunch on December 27th.
God is good. I rejoice in His care of our church throughout this year. He has protected us and provided for us in so many ways. When I consider what we have, I am quickly reminded that many have so little. Many churches have not been able to meet. Many ministries and businesses are greatly suffering financially. I praise God for His sustaining care of us.
Pray for healing for those who are hurting. Sandy S has surgery on Monday. Lola has been able to be a school some this week and is looking forward to being there full time after the Christmas break. Zeke and his family are flying tomorrow. Pray for their safety.
