It is with mixed emotions that I write this email.  I have one week left here in Pembine at my home church.  Then it’s off on another whirl-wind trip that will cover three states and take me into Canada (for my last church presentation!).   After dropping off the car that was loaned to me from dear friends in Michigan, I’ll  fly to Oklahoma for a week with my parents and brother, and……I will FINALLY board an airplane to head back to Bolivia on the first of November!  Can you believe it?  This furlough has been quite the personal journey.

I say mixed emotions because I will miss the folks in my home church.  I will miss seeing friends that I’ve been able to connect with again during this furlough.  I will miss being a part of the churches and people that have touched my life in my travels.  I will miss having so many opportunities to be with my mom, dad, and brother.  At the same time, however, I am excited to be able to return to Bolivia.  And though seeing my daughter, son-in-law, and granddaughter is a part of that excitement, I am just as excited to see what doors God is going to open up as I return to Bolivia to continue serving Him there.

As most of you know, I will not be returning to Sucre to work.  Luke and Jessica Marie have taken over the ministry there and this has opened up new doors of opportunity for me.  At this moment, it looks like I will be living and working in Santa Cruz.  There are some details to work out, of course, but I know that as God has brought me this far, He will work out His best for me once I get there.  I have learned much this furlough.  So many lessons in fact, that I would not have the space to relate them all here.  If I could pick one thing, though, that has been a particular blessing, I’d have to say it’s that I’ve learned just how many people pray for me…for the ministry, for my family, for me personally.  There really is no greater gift and I hope you all know how grateful I am for those prayers.  Thank you, thank you, thank you, for being willing to be a part of my life and ministry in this manner.

I know I haven’t written as much during furlough, but once I return to Bolivia, there will be more time to write as I get settled into my new place of service.  I will be in Sucre for as long as it takes to sell all my things, etc., before moving.  I have to admit that I am looking forward to seeing all my Deaf friends.  They know I will be leaving, but they also know that we will continue to work together for the benefit of all those in Bolivia who are Deaf.

Well, this is all for today.  I’m busy working on a ton of little projects as I get ready to “hit the road” again next week.  Thank you all, again, for your faithful prayers and care for me and for what God wants to do among the Deaf in Bolivia, South America!!

Your sister in Christ,
Carolyn Price
