Dear Prayer Warriors –
Just a note to say thank you for continuing to keep us before the throne.

Jon flew to the states 16 January.  He spent two weeks out east and was able to be in three churches and meet with a few more pastors before flying to Texas.  In Texas, he has had the opportunity to be in six different churches and meet with several other pastors.  He has even scheduled a few meetings for this fall.

Today he flies to Seattle, Washington.  Sunday he will be with a church in Everest that although we have never been there, they have supported us faithfully for 14 years.  He will stay with them until Monday morning when he flies to Alaska to spend a few days with our son, Talon, and family.  On Saturday he flies back to Seattle and will rent a car and drive for about 12 hours to preach on Sunday at a church in Montana.  He will be in Montana until 13 March when he flies to Chicago to be in churches in Wisconsin and Michigan before flying back to Scotland in April.  Please keep him in your prayers as he travels.

A couple of the churches where Jon has been have taken special offerings to help us with paying off the loan on our building.  We are so thankful for this and them.  Having this loan paid off would truly be freeing financially each month.  We have less than $22,000 left to pay, so it will be a joy to see that paid.  If you would like to give a special offering to that project, you can do so to the missions office in our name with ‘for building loan payment’ on the information.

Our church people have been fantastic while Jon has been gone.  He has arranged for guest speakers for each Sunday while he is away.  It was a joy, when one of the speakers contacted me saying he was ill, to simply make a phone call to one of our men and be assured that between he and another gentleman, Sunday would be taken care of.  With the exception of a few ‘missing in action’ attendance has been good while he has been away.  There is a good core group who are great to carry on with the work of the ministry.  People in town have asked me if I am carrying a heavy burden while Jon is gone, and I have been delighted to say that I am not having to do anything more at church than what I would have to do would he be here.

I would like to leave you with a passage that has been brought to my attention this week,  ‘ Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.’ Romans 15:13  How wonderful to serve the God of all hope!

Have a great week, and thank you again for your prayers,
Ruth Bergen
