Prayer Requests from Charlie and JoAnn Smith – July 23, 2012
I am writing you for a special prayer request. Today I was robbed again as I was doing business downtown. As I was getting on the subway to come home three people robbed me of my wallet which means paperwork more than anything else. I am required to go the police station to report the robbery, which I did but that is just a formality as nothing will be recovered.
This is the sixth time that I have been robbed here and the sixth time of going through the Biblical process of the battle of the flesh over bitterness. It does not ever seem that it gets easier.
The stuff robbed is not the issue – it is the feelings that follow; where the flesh and Satan get under your skin. Paul asked for prayer to keep him from such incidences in 2 Thessalonians 3:2, “And that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men: for all men have not faith.” Please do the same for each of us whom you all support.
Please pray that God would be glorified and that I would get rid of this “root of bitterness” that wishes to grow.
Thank you very much,
Charlie
