Dear Trinity Baptist Church Family, Philippians 1:20 “But you have not so learned Christ.” After Paul tells us that we should no longer live like the ungodly. He tells us that learning Christ is different from our pre-Christian thinking. A Christian is someone who is learning a new lifestyle. A Christians walks in a manner that is unique.
I rejoice in the good week of ministry we’ve had at Trinity Baptist. We had another great night of Awana last Wednesday including two who responded to the gospel invitation when given the opportunity. Ninety attended Grandparent’s Day at TBS on Friday. Because of our patriotic theme we honored 4 veterans who were in attendance: Ken Rosenthal – WWII, Marlin Towne – Korea, Mike Langolf – Viet Nam, and David Schueller – Viet Nam. If you were not able to attend, I encourage you to check out the singing of our young people on our church Facebook page. Then on Saturday I counted 36 who enjoyed good times and great food at the Cider Squeezing at Curt & Sue’s. This all in addition to the opportunity to worship together on the Lord’s Day.
Tomorrow, Tuesday, October 19th, is Senior Lunch and Bible Study at Rolling Meadows. We meet at noon to order lunch and then, after we eat, we will have a topical study on Islam and Terrorism. Please join us!
This Wednesday is Awana Pie Auction. This year’s proceeds will go to supplement our Awana ministry. We will not have our regular adult study. Instead, bring a pie and/or buy a pie on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. We will have a short Awana from 6:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Children whose parents are not participating in the Pie Auction would be picked up at 7:00 p.m.
Continue to pray for Dave R as he returns to see his cardiologist this week. Pray for Kathy’s chemo to be effective. Pray for Mollie H to clear her lungs of the effects of Covid. Pray that our country might turn its eyes to God for guidance. Pray that our church respond rightly to God’s Word. Pray for our homes to be citadels of godliness and truth.
Embracing Truth, Pastor
