Report from Charlie Smith

We praise God for the prayers made on our behalf.  They are such a blessing! “Ye also helping together by prayer for us, that for the gift bestowed upon us by the means of many persons thanks may be given by many on our behalf.” 2 Corinthians 1:11

The church in Buenos Aires is doing well and we thank the Lord for the various pastors and dear friends who are ministering to the sweet people of Iglesia Bautista Libertad (Liberty Baptist Church).  The church is now meeting at 2 in the afternoon and that gives the pastors who are taking
turns time to come after their morning service and meet with our brothers and sisters in the Capital.

As far as JoAnn and I, we are doing well.  I always stand amazed in how God uses us to minister to others.    The Lord allowed to preach and present the ministry of Buenos Aires to a church in Casper.  Last week we were in Laramie to preach at their mission conference.  This week we are on the way
to Michigan to visit our daughters and their respective families.  I marvel each time that we are with Heather and Lauren to see how God is working in their respective lives.  JoAnn and I are truly blessed!  Of course there are the other eight blessings that the Lord gives us when we visit our daughters, our sons-in-laws and our six grandchildren.

The plans for May, besides visiting our daughters, are that we shall be ministering in at least two churches in Michigan and Wisconsin then at the end of the month return to Casper.  I am truly blessed that God has allowed me to return to the pulpit and I believe the lessons that the Holy Spirit
has been teaching are very precious.  I hope I have learned them well, as I do not wish to return to the “school room” for similar lessons anytime in the near future.

Many of you have inquired about my health.  The cardiac rehabilitation has been completed.  My heart is working well and I am striving to maintain the exercise and diet required.  We still have many hurdles yet to jump to have the kidney transplant that the doctor says is necessary.  He told us that
the kidney would have a greater success if it could be obtained before a person goes on dialysis, so that is why we are going through all the red-tape.   They will not take the existing kidneys out but rather graft an extra one so I would have three kidneys.  There are quite a lot of things that need to proceed even before I am considered by the kidney center for an evaluation.  I have an appointment with my doctor in June to discuss lab work that is to be completed before we meet.  He will then tell me the next step.  Please pray that the Creatine level would drop and if it be God’s will that the kidneys would be healed.

Thank you again for all your prayers and the sacrifice of the extra funds sent to help with the medical bills.  We praise God for your hearts as we are humbled with gratitude in how God’s people have responded.

I was told the other day by a pastor that he had not received some of our prayer letters.  When I checked the contact information I found out that his e-mail address had been replaced with an incorrect one.  I have no idea how this could happen.  If any of you have a suggestion, please let me know.  It might have happened when I updated my accounts from my cell phone and the information became jumbled.  Would you do me another favor?  Would you jot a note to let me know if you received this update?  Thanks.
