Prayer letter from Charlie & JoAnn Smith

We pray that God will give you a Merry Christmas and the greatest New Year in glorifying
our Saviour. “Therefore the Lord Himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call His name Immanuel.” Isaiah 7:14
Thank you so much for all your prayers for JoAnn and me, which includes the ministry in Buenos Aires and the traveling mercies that God has given.
What a great blessing it is to serve the Lord especially during Christmas season. We pray that God is giving each of you plenty of opportunities to explain to others why a Saviour was born. The Lord has blessed by giving such a freedom while preaching that has and is changing lives.    He has guided our travels so that we have traveled between storms and has given so much mercy in the travels. We have traveled many miles and the van is still doing well. We left Casper the beginning of October and have traveled from the west of Wyoming to Wisconsin, Illinois, Ohio, Iowa, Missouri, Michigan, and now we are in Texas.    During that time the Lord has allowed us to be in some new churches, see old friends, and He has given us some new praying partners.
Iglesia Bautist Libertad (Liberty Baptist Church) in Buenos Aires is doing well and it is one of our blessings to hear how God is using five different pastor who rotate so that the pulpit is filled each week.    The folks back home are so appreciative of their sacrifice and also for the prayers that you all are making on their behalf. Omar writes frequently of those blessings.
One of the greatest blessings since our last prayer letter was the time we have spent with our grandchildren.    We had Thanksgiving with the Robert, Zach, and Haddon and then a few days later the granddaughters (Miriam, Abigail, and Chloe) joined us at the Byrd’s home in Detroit for an early Christmas. What blessings God gives us that we don’t deserve! It was not easy telling them goodbye, since we most likely will not see them again before the Childs return to Papua New Guinea and we return to Argentina.
We still have many more miles yet to travel from Texas to other churches in other states.    We praise God that we can come and report to our supporting churches and hope the Lord will give us other churches to take on the sacrifice of praying and caring for us.    Time is getting short and we have so much work we would like to see accomplished.
We are eagerly anticipating our return to Buenos Aires the end of April. In order to conserve funds, we would prefer to use United Air Miles for the flight.    We would like to book the flight
soon to have the best choice of dates. If anyone would like to donate miles please contact us for the account number.
Thank you so very much, Charlie & JoAnn Smith
