Post-Thanksgiving Hope

As we said “goodbye” at the hotel on Thursday evening my cousins and I said “see you next year” to each other. It wasn’t a joke or a light comment. We do like each other and we won’t see each other for another year. Then last night as Beth and Tony left for the north woods we said goodbye knowing they would not be back until Christmas – 4 weeks! Though in both goodbyes there was sadness, there was also a promise. I have a valid hope of seeing these people and enjoying my relationship with them again. It’s one of the joys of this life – and the next one, the hope of renewed relationships.
