Dear Trinity Baptist Church Family: One week ago today I wrote to tell you of Sue Struska’s heavenly home going. So many events have crowded my mind and life since that letter – a good and full Sunday at Trinity Baptist, a Monday spent with pastors and wives from all over Wisconsin, a WFBC board meeting, a full week of teaching school, a good Bible study in Isaiah, staff meetings, family time, many conversations, reading, errands, letters, email, business work, housework, and sermon preparation for the coming Sunday morning. I live a full life. But all of this busyness pales to shadows when I stop consider Jesus and eternity. Sue’s passing reminds me: “Only one life, ’twill soon be passed. Only what’s done for Christ will last.”

Tomorrow morning the ladies of our church have a Christmas party fellowship at the parsonage at 10:00 a.m. (I’ll make sure I am gone.) Bring a finger-food dish to share. Punch and hot drinks will be provided. Sarah tells me to say “Snow or no snow, this will happen!” Come make a new friend.

Sunday is my last sermon in Titus. I hope you have enjoyed this walk as much as I have! We will again speak of grace. We will talk about how it impacts our life in the church.

Sunday afternoon we have the priviledge of participating in a Memorial Service for Sue Struska. We will begin at 5:00 p.m. with a worship service commemorating the life lived by Sue and her service for Jesus. The auditorium will be set for a dinner. Following a time of the Word and remembering, we will share dinner with the Struska family. While we are eating, several of Bill and Sue’s children will speak. The service and dinner should take about 2 hours.

Pray for comfort and strength for Bill and his family. Pray for safety as the Struska family comes to Fond du Lac for the weekend. Pray for health – some bug has hit Bill and others pretty hard this week. Pray for healing for Kim. Pray for God to be glorified in what we say and do at church this weekend.

May the Light draw you forward in your walk with God. May the Word of God refresh your soul. May you be confident of how much God loves you.

Embracing Truth, Pastor
