Charlie Smith February prayer letter

“Give thanks unto the LORD, call upon his name, make known his deeds among the people.” 1 Chronicles 16:8 Here is it February and I wonder what happened to January??? We arrived back in Casper and found a bag full of Christmas and anniversary cards. There also was a report from the church treasurer of the special gifts that were sent; some for Christmas and others to go toward medical bills. Thank you all for your kindness. “But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” 1 Corinthians 15:57

Ministry – In these last two months God has blessed us by allowing us to go to churches that were new to us. JoAnn and I are praying that God will burden them to be co-laborers. It is great to see how God is working in the different churches that have supported us from 10 to 18 years. When you keep such precious folks in prayer it is so fantastic to have the time to sit down with them and see how God has answered prayers and worked in their lives. “Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,” One item that I have found in each and every church body that is serving Christ is that Satan is actively at work with various saints going through some very difficult times. It seems lately that each month we hear of a saint that has faithfully prayed for us entering their heavenly rest. We need prayer warriors!

Our time here in the States is drawing to a close and we have obtained the tickets to return to our field of ministry. Lord willing we should arrive in Buenos Aires May 3, 2014. Please keep us in prayer as we have read where they have made the seats closer and more narrow. For an eleven hour flight those two items could give circulation problems to the legs and aches to the back.

Health / Family – JoAnn is doing well and my health is better than it has been for some time. The kidneys continue to improve. We hope that they will get to the point to where the diet will not need to be as strict. I still wish to loose at least 7 more pounds and they seem to be the hardest of all the weight so far. The heart seems to keep ticking like an ol’ Timex – God is so good! Ben and Lauren will be returning to Papua New Guinea the end of March. We are so grateful to God for giving us time with both our girls and their families. Jeremy and Heather lives are as busy as ever in Detroit. The time with family never seems to be anywhere close to the amount of time that we would like but those special moments are great memories.

Argentina – We continue to get notes from the church in Buenos Aires praising God for what He is doing and we thank the Lord for providing pastors in the provinces that have sacrificed their time to minister to Iglesia Bautista Libertad during our absence. Thank you very much for your support. We pray God will greatly bless you.
