Pastor in Israel - Thursday, May 27

We have had two great days of touring. Though this is my 3rd trip, I continue to learn more. Though I have been there before, we went to different parts of tel Dan and the former city of Capernaum today. Again I learn so much. I counted off the steps between the synagogue of Capernaum and the Sea. Less than 120 yards.

What a great Lord's Day we had. I thoroughly loved the preaching of both Dr. Von and Pastor Rory. I look forward to hearing more from Rory in June.

Tony McCoy and I are safely in Irael. We got into our hotel room early enough to put our feet in the Med before dinner. Off to Caesarea - Megiddo - Carmel and Nazareth tomorrow.

Sunday, May 23, 2010

Dr. Marty Von and his wife Susan are our guests tomorrow. Dr. Von has ministered at Northland Baptist Bible College for 30 years. He will be following up our series on the Home with some good preaching on relationships in Sunday School and the morning service.

Carolyn Price - May, 2010

A few nights ago, I received a text message from Cynthia. She had seen on the news that there had been a serious tornado in Oklahoma where my parents live. I tried to call them the following morning, but no one answered. A couple of hours later, though, I was able to connect with them. My mom told me that she could hear the storm and decided to look outside.

WFBC Prayer letter - May, 2010

"O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! Who hast
set they glory above the heavens" This is our reason for being, the
glory of God!

Thank you for your faithful commitment to the Wisconsin Fellowship of
Baptist Churches. We rejoice over the Lord's provision during the past
60 years to sustain this work. Your giving makes the continuing ministry

Sunday is a busy day in our mini-series on the Home. Pastor Rory taught the Family's Foundations on May 2nd. This week in Sunday School the different classes will teach the Family's Finances. Last week in church I preached on Children and the Home. This coming Lord's Day I will preach on Church and the Home.

Charlie Smith prayer letter - May, 2010

Thank you very much for your prayers and in this first paragraph let me inform you how your prayers were answered from our last prayer letter.

Zak Pak Update - May, 2010

I picked up a used Pilgrim’s Progress off a dusty shelf this week and was reminded of what beautiful biblical imagery God gave us from His servant, John Bunyan, languishing in a prison cell. On Sunday, we sang “It Is Well” and I was reminded again, knowing the story of that song, that often the greatest and most enduring praise is birthed through intense pain.
