“No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.” We are not looking back.

Just a quick update on Julia. We talked with the doctor this morning and he felt the antibiotic had started to take effect. He said we need to just wait and see over these next few days how things go. Julia's fever has only been low grade today and her pain is less. Those are good signs. This afternoon she has been able to keep liquids down.

Mr. Shaeffer asked me to post his thanks to the many people who made last night's auction a great success. We grossed about $13,200. Because our expenses were less this year, we may net more for the school this year than any year before. This is amazing in light of the poor economic news we hear day after day.

We have an urgent prayer request to pass along concerning our oldest daughter, Julia (8 yrs). She woke up Friday morning early with an ear ache. Throughout the day the pain got worse, she developed a high fever and vomiting. By late afternoon she had considerable pain on her skull bone behind her ear and along her jaw bone. I took her to see a doctor this evening.

We had to spend an extra week in Manaus to finish up some medical exams. We are headed home on Tuesday morning. We leave about 7am and will arrive in Santo Antônio on Wednesday morning about 7:30. We are looking forward to getting home.

It's Friday afternoon and I am home from Northland's Heart Conference. I had a good week. The speakers were excellent. The Bible teaching was refreshing. The best part of the week was the confirmation I received in my soul that I am not alone.

When I was in junior high, my grampa Curtis took our family from our home in Minnesota to see the House on the Rock in Spring Green, WI. If you have not been to this attraction, it is worthy of a day. A man built a unique home on a rock formation. Then he added to its tourist value by collecting lots of neat things. Well, I was very impressed.
